What cause stiff steering ? 200 1989

Why my steering is stiff when cold outside? it's only affect steer to the left.
Why problem went away if I warmed up the car?
Why it still stiff after I flushed with new fluid (Atf dexron)?
Is it time for a new pump?

Check Your motor mounts. Engine could be leaning on one side or something.

I'll bet it's the steering u-joint(s)most likely the lower one,could be the top.Lube them both working the grease into the joint with your fingers.
I just changed my ATF in the steering gear and I think it helps alot.
