Can the hood quiet padding from a 700 fit a 240? 200 1980

Does anyone know if a hood padding (the hood quiet kit) from a 700 series car can be adapted to fit a 240? I'm talking mostly about my 1980 245 DL, but would also like to know if it can be adapted to fit the earlier "Flat hood" style hoods if I ever wanted to put one of these things on either my '77 244 or '76 245.

What kind of modifiying would I end up needing to do in order to get something like this to work?

If not a 700 series, Does anyone know of any other cars (any makes/models) that might have under hood padding that can be adapted to fit with out too much of a problem?

Thanks as always.

When I converted the 242t to a faux flathood I used the hood blanket from my old hood. A few of the holes don't line up but it's an easy swap. As a previous poster said, get one from a diesel or a turbo hood.

edit: I just measured the hood blankets on the 740 and 240. The 240 blanky measures 51"x33", the 740, 55"x37". The 740 blanket is sculpted to clear some of the components in the engine bay and "looks" like it would hang too low in the 240. I suppose it couold be cut down to fit, but I think you'd be better off holding out for one from a 240.

I am sure you could adaptit. Cut as you go. I picked up a very good shape underhood liner for my 245, also, an electric fan cuts noise very Well.
