Removing Rear Seat Skins? 200

Hey --

I was wondering if anyone has removed the skins from a 240 rear seat? (The seats I have in mind are leather). A couple of Qs:

1) How do the skins attach? Hog rings or something else?
2) Can you get the skins off without stretching or damaging them?

DS

    Removing Rear Seat Skins? 200

    Harald,

Last fall I removed all the seat upholstery in my 88 244DL for cleaning and repairs. The rear seat fabric was held in place with hog rings around wires. Easy to remove and because the foam base is compressable, no real threat of ripping or over stressing the covers. These were cloth but I would assume leather covers are held in place the same way. A lot of hog rings around the bottom piece perimeter but I'd say the back seat covers are easier to remove and replace than the front buckets. No real problems or tricks to this ... except getting the lower bench section free from it's hook attachments so it can be removed from the Brick. Good Luck
