Fuel Injection Temp Sensor Location 200 1983

I have a 83 244 with the LH Jetronic 2.0. I just replaced the wiring harness and thought that one of the wires went to the Fuel Injection Temp Sensor. But jsut today I figured out that it went to the Temp Gauge Sending unit instead. Where exactly is the Fuel Injection Temp Sensor Location? There is the knock sensor there too but the blue two pronged FI Temp Sensor so far has evaded me.

Thanks,

Outlaw7x77

I changed that one out on my 1988 244GL B230F. Likely that your ECT is in the same location.

There are three sensors along the left side. Front to rear are Knock, temp gauge, and ECT. Check (look or feel) for the ECT above and slightly left from the oil separator box. The connector is like that on an injector.

Good Luck,

Bob

:>)

PS ECT = Engine Coolant Temp sender. The name seems to change from Volvo book to Volvo book!! Sometimes they call it the Ambient Temp Sender ??

that is where I located the temp sensor for the gauge. It has one wire. This is the one whre teh harness part number tag was before I replaced it. The Senso I'm looking for has a blue plug, two prong hookup. One is ground, and one goes to the ECU. There is another sensor on the block but I understand this is the knock sensor which senses vibrations and relays that to the ECU so the Ecu can tell the ignition to retard the timeing.

I'm looking for the Fuel Injection Temperature Sensor. I hear it's under the intake. Am I crazy?

Thanks,

Outlaw

the temp sensor for the gauge is in the block, not the head, yellow wire, between 2 and 3. the ect should be in the head, somewhere, below the intake. the knock sensor is in the block, down low, near the motor mount bracket. good luck, chuck.

Shoudl be is right! That's what I keep telling myself. The yellow wire is to the Temp. Gauge. It is located under #2 intake port. Just aft of that is the know senso that is located just below the Cyl. Head/Block surface under or just aft of #2. I had the Intake off but at that time I thoguth I was looking at the Temp sender for the FI. The yellow wire had a red part # tag attached to it. It was one of the reasons I had it apart in the first place. IT was burned to a crisp along with the five other wires that were all common to the plug on the firewall. I got it all replaced and bundled up real nice, all put back together and then I found that the neutral safety switch was bad also. I replaced it and "vroom". It started.

But now I've found that it is starting irratically. Seems only when it wants to. My trouble shooting book says that one of the causes could be the Fuel Injection Temp sensor. Where is it exactly on a 1983 Volvo 244 with the LH Jetronic 2.0 injection system with the Chrysler Ignition?

Outlaw Totally Baffled,

Thanks,

your first post you just replaced the harness. now it looks like you fixed the wires for the temp sw, starter, alt and oil pressure sw. at the firewall. hope the rest of thee harness is in good shape.

as far as the ecu temp sw goes, it belongs in the head. i you have only 1 sw in the head, the ecu temp sw is not there. it is always in the head and always below the intake, usually between the front of the head and the temp sw. look next to 3 and 4. see any plugs in the head? should be at least 1 with a hex head. the left over connector, does it look like the injector connectors? if the left over is smaller and different than the injector connectors, has a blue/yellow wire and a brown wire, that is not the ecu temp sw connector. it's a hold over from the kjet cars that all lh harnesses have. you have nothing to hook it to. after this, i got nothing. good luck, chuck.
