Can I switch the door locks from a '73 145 to the '71 142?

Central locking fits well. I've installed cheap universal lock motors that I got from an electronics shop. The front ones fit perfect, but the rear ones need customisation which I have not done. My purpose was to unlock both front doors from the driver side, and sometime will add a remote control. So if you are having trouble with your locks, it would be easy to change to keyless entry.

Can't even switch the doors!!

The 73 had the flush door handles while the 71 handles stuck out like they
should. It may be that the locks are enough alike that they will work,
but the interior linkage is a little different. I'd look them over pretty
well before I tore anything up.
