Universal fuel sending units-Have anyone used them? 120-130

I'm getting tried of not having a good tank sending unit.

Summit Racing sells this one:

http://store.summitracing.com/product.asp?d=10&s=116&p=1970&searchtype=ecat

Seems to be adustable(6-23 inches)and have different OHM ranges:

10-180ohms
240-33 ohms
0-90ohms

What is the ohm range on a 122s sending unit?

Wonder if the mounting holes would line up to the gas tanks??

Paul

I got one for a PV544 from the local Volvo parts department, and would assume they've got'm for Amazons as well -- probably the same gadget.

    122 Fuel sender Ohm range- I think it's 10-180 ohm range. 120-130

The only specs I can find for the fuel sending unit was a post here on the brickboard for '63 544:

    http://www.brickboard.com/RWD/?id=605984

Said the resistance was ~200ohms full and 10ohms empty. Seems right with me.

Can't check any of my old units with my meter right now (loaned the meter to a friend).

Btw: In my case, after buy my amazon, I take the damage sender and with nicrome wire (and a lot of patience) I rebuild the sensor part, also put a new plastic floater (from a VW).

Of course, a lot of less work if you use a oem new unit (no available in my country).

Humm... I'm using a japanese unit now, I took the old one to my local parts store and he handed me a new one, almost the same, except had to drill new mounting holes into the sender to fit the old pattern.
Sorry, don't know the resistance... but it's working, I guess I was lucky.

      Anthony-

You wouldn't have the part number around. My local part stores can't figure out how to cross-reference anything.
