Hello Brick Buddies,

I am presently giving my 745 a major cosmetic set-to and am trying to find a source of black plastic or rubber door sill step covers in the UK, in either bespoke or universal fitment.

So far I have drawn a blank. The suppliers of the stainless steel ones don't cater for Volvos, and in case they would look terribly 'bling-bling' on a 745SE, which has very little brightwork.

I once bought some rubber sill protector stripping which was self-adhesive and came on a roll. You had to cut to fit your particular car. It worked very well, but I can't find it in any accessory shops. Is it still available?

I know that there is a product called 'Stepshield' available in the States to cover sill steps, but I don't know whether or not I can get it shipped to me...

Does Volvo carry any sort of sill protector for the 700?

    For cars sold in the US, they installed a stainless steel protector which may be separately available.
    Another approach might be to install plastic body film, such as the 3M clear protective film available for rocker panels. Yet another is just to adhere some sheet rubber in place on the sills.
