245 series Blueprint needed 200 1991

Hi everybody. I'm trying to build a 3D model of the 245 in order to be able to try a few mods on the exterior design but I cannot find a decent blueprint on the internet. The only thing I was able to find was this 1982 lateral blueprint. If anyone has a late series blueprint could you please scan it and mail it to me at: vlmoldov@zappmobile.ro I need mainly the front and back blueprints, because I think I can extrapolate the look of the late model from this pic I have, but if you have the lateral of the late model I would be most grateful if you would scan that also. Thank you very much. I can send the built .3ds file to anyone who can help me once it's ready.

    Fire--

You could rent a digital REFLEX camera that takes interchangeable lenses (they're a pro item and pricey; I know Nikon makes them) and an extreme long focal length telephoto lens. Set the car up on level ground and shoot head-on and tail-on. This will give you a (nearly) orthographic projection as originally drawn by a Volvo engineer. The longer the lens, the closer your photo will be to a true ortho drawing.

Be sure to get the camera on the true front-rear centerline axis of the car. Know anyone who does surveying?

Vertical? I suppose set the camera half the distance above ground level that the car is tall.

    Good luck.

They never changed it, use the 82. I have teh body shop blueprint with measurements to restore the car, but no way can it be scanned.

For the 86-93 version they used different taillights, the nose was cut down, and it got the front spoiler under the bumper, not to mention the new rear window, bigger and glued that completely changed the look from behind. But as I said these were only minor adjusments that can be made. The only problem is that as you can see I ONLY have the lateral view, no front no rear, and you cannot build a 3D model with only lateral views. If somebody has got them please mail me. Eventually if I get them it will look in the end like this Skoda I'm building right now (this is my other car). Even though it's not yet finished you can see what I'm talking about.

Have you checked out your Bently manual of Owner's Manual lately? I think one or both of them has head-on and rear views of a 245. Front end view of a 244 should be the same I think.
What progam do you use? Looks nice.

Unfortunately my car was a second hand and came without the user manual, and I don't have the bentley, I've got the Haynes manual that doesn't come with the schematic views of the car. If you have them and a scanner close by could you please scan the page of the bentley manual and mail it to me? I have some schematics from the old user manual of my 1978 Volvo but it's for the sedan plus that it needs a lot of modifying since it's the old model with round headlights.
I'm using 3D Studio Max 6.0 for rendering with a lot of plugins I don't know much about. Don't get me wrong I'm extremely proficient in computers, just not in these architectural programs. I'm actually doing this for fun (I'm a doctor :-)),but since my wife's an architect and most of my friends are architects they have taught me - one of them is completely crazy about these things and completely in love with trains, he's building 3D train cars and engines for Trainz in his free time, and he's the one that got me into this). I'm trying to collect the blueprints to make the 3D models of all the hystorical volvos, but it's gonna be a one at a time job, and since I have two 240 I started with these. Actually for the new ones it's pretty easy to find blueprints and even 3D models. I could also use some the schematics of the 242 if you have them in the user manual. I wasn't able to find blueprints for 142, 242 and 144 series. Right now I'm planning to send an order for the P 120, 1800 coupe and 1800 ES coupe blueprints that I found yesterday for sale on a website. Check them out at www.blueprint69.com
