Wheels... 140-160

Well, with all this jibber jabber about wheels, i decided to look on ebay because i'm bored. I just found this set of good looking gold MSW wheels for a Taurus/Sable.

They look good and are cheap, i don't know how well they'd fit though b/c they're only 14" and sometimes we have problems running 14". But they're always minor problems and usually easily accounted for. Also, they'd fit in closer almost .4 inches compared with a set of et.25 740 turbo alloys. Maybe someone wants to get these wheels?

Ranger wheels? I hear these fit too? These might look good...(TWO HOURS LEFT!!!)

20x8.5s anyone? (Just kidding :-D, there is no way you could do this, well, if u wanted to keep a stock diameter tire...)

:) I didn't know you could find all this stuff out there for our cars... Sounds like a nice option though! There are some wide ranger wheels out there... But then again, they're made for a "truck" so they wouldn't be so light...

Ranger wheels don't fit - wrong bolt pattern. They'll fit the earlier 1800's and 122's, though.

On my '74, I had some rubbing with 14" Corona's. On the back, I needed to ground down the horns a little bit and bend the front dust shields a little bit. Currently, it has some 14" Riken mesh wheels in 20mm offset.

Yeah, I had corona rims on my car for a while, but i guess the previous owner took care of all the problems when he put them on... Too bad i don't know the previous owner to consult him about the car... I have 5mm spacers on the front of my car if that helps with the clearance at all. But i think that was just to prevent the tires from hitting the IPD swaybar. Thanks for the info, i guess i was getting my 122 board info mixed up with my 140 board info, I hate it when that happens! I remember reading that the Ranger wheels fit on the older cars only... But what makes them not work in this situation, is there a mispost or something? Because on these two wheel sets that i posted(and all of the other ranger wheels...), they both have the 5x4.5" bolt pattern. What's the difference?
Peace!

The 140 series have a 5-108mm (5-4.25") bolt pattern, which continues onto these days.

By far, Volvo is the most common user of it of this bolt pattern. Other makes ... Ford Taurus/Thunderbird/Windstar, Mercury Sable, Lincoln LS, and some older Ferrari's (308, Testarossa).

-- Kane ... alas, 10" wide Ferarri rims will rub on our Volvo's. Not to mention they're prolly very expensive still.

ah, looking at other Taurus wheels on ebay, they're listed as 4.25... I guess this guy made a typo... But then again, there are others for the Taurus that are also listed 4.5", what's the dilio... They're even doing the same thing with the Cougar wheels.. Some say 4.25 others say 4.5. And there are some NICE looking cougar wheels for sale... Take a look, not very spendy either! Ferrari wheels... hmmm, sounds like a plan! (haha, i wish) Thanks again, peace man!

Prolly the Cougar that's being referred to are the late-80's/early-90's ones, which were essentially the T-bird. These have the 5-4.25" bolt pattern.

Latter ones became compact, FWD, and made in Australia. I believe those have the much much more common 5-4.5".

The Taurus wheels *might* fit... but I wouldn't take the gamble without test fitting them first. If the seller is correct in that they are 5-4.5 bolt pattern, they won't work.

Ford Ranger wheels fit drum rear brake cars... won't fit a 140.

20" 8.5 wide... hmmphh. Them is silly waste of money for about any vehicle...
