Oil Cooler question 900

I was just wondering what year Volvo changed their oil coolers in the Turbos from air to water cooled?

Thanks for the help everyone.

Oil Cooler question 900

1991 model year turbo cars had the air-to-oil cooler. Starting with the 1992 model year Volvo used the coolant-to-oil cooler. The coolant-to-oil heat exchanger is probably more efficient and the accompanying intercooler revisions are an improvement. However the hoses at the heat exchanger (oil cooler) are a maintenance problem.

Not sure, but my son's 92 940 has the water cooled version. Likely around 1990-1991.
