sudden stumbling, quits for a sec, then runs OK?? 200 1983

1983 245 with rebuilt engine, good replaced wiring harness, tune up recent, new O2 sensor, etc.
after being started, the car runs OK for a little bit, then suddenly shuts off for a few seconds while driving, then starts back up (clutch is engaged the whole time). This happens every time it is started up.
I have not replaced the ECU yet..perhaps this is the culprit? Can anyone help?
Gracias,
el Raidman

Do you have a K-Jet or a LH-Jet system? If you have a K-Jet system I would say you have a plugged Control Pressure Regulator (CPR) or a defected Engine Temp Sensor (needed to enrich the duty cycle when cold). If you have the LH-Jet system I would also say that the Engine Temp Sensor could be at fault and not allowing the fuel system to know when the car is cold, i.e. when to richen the mixture. Best Of Luck!
