tach install-almost 200 1990

Bricksters,

I just successfully (sort of) installed a used tach(large one, in place of the clock) and small clock in my wagon. The tach works when the lights are not on. When the lights are on I get no more than 1100 rpm showing. It also appears that the clock does not work with the lights on, though I'm less concerned with the clock.

It should be noted that I have had an existing problem of the left directional light constantly on in the dash when the lights are turned on. The directionals work fine, day or night. Also, when the emergency lights are on, the directionals blink from one side to another-aren't they supposed to flash in unison?

I've cleaned the coil connection. From wires visible from the inside of the dash, the wires all appear to be good. There is a set of wires with a connector but with no relay just sitting there-would that be for something like heated mirrors?

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks in advance,

YOu might have a bad circuit board in your guage pod. I'd try and find a new one some where.

Ben,

Thanks for the direction; I took another K9800 circuit board and added my speedo, and voila, all of my problems solved. The directional no longer stays on and the tach works with the lights on. Thanks for the help.

Steve
