At one time I would've said, bring it to me! However, no longer being in that business, I'd say the two closest places that specialize in Volvo are:

Ben's Volvo Repair, IL-137 in Libertyville (just west of Rt 21/Milwaukee Avenue)
Volvo Tech, IL-176 in Lake Bluff, west of Waukegan Rd.

Both are easy to get to. Ben's Volvo Repair is a quick jaunt on the Tri-State, exit 137 west. Volvo Tech is an easy ride down US-41, exit 176 west for a very short distance.

I had my car worked on at Ben's Volvo Repair before, but it was still in the 90's. I still lived in Lake Forest (Deerpath/Sheridan Rd. area) at the time, so it was not too bad of a distance to Libertyville, a quicker drive than to Hubbard Woods Motors. At that time, Mom & Dad were still paying the freight, but I still would shop around for repair and it seemed as if Ben's was less expensive at that time. Several of my friends had Volvos that they got serviced either at Ben's Volvo Repair, or Hubbard Woods Motors. One of my 940s was a Hubbard Woods car (serviced there all along). The other at Volvo of Lisle. Lately, though, I'm not sure about local service and pricing. Things do change, so my statements may not necessarily be accurate. My Volvos haven't seen someone else's wrenches for many years, so I'm not sure exactly what's up.
