Rear brake valve search 140-160

The rear brake ressure limiting valve for the passenger side of my 1970 142S is in need of replacement. I am having a hard time finding anyone who supplies this part. Does anyone know of an online retailer that carries this part? Thank you.

How could you tell it is bad?
I would suggest you go to a salvage yard and get one.

I think the valve is bad b\c when I went to bleed the brakes, I could not get brake fluid to come out of the bleeder screws on the caliper. So I started working backwards pulling hoses to see where the stop was located. When I disconnected the hose leading out of the valve, there was no fluid leakage. However, when I disconnected the hose going into the valve, that hose bled profusely. Therefore, I am assuming it is the valve that is bad\clogged. The repair manual that I have stated that Volvo recommended replacing the entire valve if one suspected it was malfunctioning.

The salvage yard is a good idea, but there are very few 140 series cars around this part of the country. Additionally, I have heard this part is prone to rust. What would be best is to find a supplier who sells new or rebuilt units. Does anyone know whether Volvo still sells this part or where I can go on the web to find it?

www.scandcar.com sells OEM. It is in the Netherlands, and you can buy using your credit card. I'd trust this guy, and he is very friendly and helpful. Suggest replacing both. What he does not have, he gets for you from Sweden.
