Comparing transmissions 740 and 960 900

I am going to be flushing the familys s90 tran when the
weather gets alittle warmer. I just recently replaced
my transmission (aw70) on my 740 and was pleased with how
easy it was, and how easy it was to replace the filter.
How difficult is the 960 transmission to change the filter
compared to my 740s transmission?

also..
When I go to autozone and ask for parts, (when pertaining
to the s90) I like to ask for 960 parts cause sometimes
their computers dont have s90 listings. Is it alright
to ask for 960 trans filter and gasket for the s90?
Are all 960/s90 trans the same?

The aw70 took about 9qts of ATF, aw30 the same?

Thanks a bunch.

Jon.

I'm sure that asking for a '95 to '97 960 part will be the same. Not sure about earlier ones.

I don't think there is a gasket for the pan, but rather a sealant that's used. As I recall there is a screen filter, but that might be about it. Flush and refill with Mobil1 or Amsoil synthetic transmission fluid. You'll need two or three quarts extra for the flush.
