My 1998 S90 creaks in the front end when it's cold. When I drive the car and it warms up or if the weather is warm the noise goes away. The dealer says my struts are dead or dying. Should I check on another suspension part or could this be the case. Any help? I should have been more specific in my previous message. Thanks

On my 960 it is the rubber bushings at the front inner end of the lower control arms. I've got new ones and the press adapter tools sitting on my workbench. (I put my car on ramps and got my nieghbor to rock the car until I located the source of the noise while under the car.)

'96 965 with 16' wheels at 113K. Had '85 745 Turbo Diesel for 200K.

Our 98 S90 with 68k has done it for years. The car feels fine and the noise does go away. Our 95 960 with 152,000 does not do it (struts at 110K). I don't know what causes it but doubt (at least in our S90's case), that our struts are shot.
