Non Volvo lack of stearing stability question.

I drove my parents '94 camry today with 89000 miles on it and I was shoked as to how it rode, especially with the realtivly low milage. It seemed asthough the front end was very sloppy as the stering wheel seemed to bounce around. Is this me, or is their something wrong? They said they never noticed it before, but there are used to it, so they may not relize the change over time. I did notice the car had significant tire where on the outside edges. Still, would this cause what I'm talking about.
Thanks and happy brickng.

Non Volvo lack of stearing stability question.

"Being used to it" is a very real phenomena when my motorcycle failed inspection because of the bushing in the fork being bad the mechanic said it is rare that anyone notices because it happens slowly and you adapt to it.

on the camery my first move would be tires and front end aligenment, I think the tire wear on the out side edges is a symptom and not the cause, I would check ball joints and tie rod ends as well. Allthough unevenly worn tires will cause some strange handling problems, something caused them to get that way in the first place.
just my 1& 1/2 cents

very low tires could do that.
the older camrys also use the sway bar as a fron to back control arm, and I have seen the U-bracket fallen off, creating some ugly handling charachteristics.
