If anyone knows the wire diagram to the Knock sensor, i'll be your best friend... 200

So I went and bought the knock sensor, i feel like a real sucker... Plug it in, and same problem... So then it must be the wires, i hope. Does anyone know the wire digram? Or could it be a computer problem? The wire looks better then any wire that i have seen, and the car is 11 years old, and has been always been in flordia. So if any one has the wire digram for the knock sensor, you could gain yourself a new friend ;-)

Thanks,
Blake

If you have a '93 240, the knock sensor wiring is very simple. The Black wire from the sensor goes to pin 12 on the EZK ignition control computer and the Green wire goes to pin 13.

Well I don't own this model but the Bentley manual shows it located below the glove compartment. The manual says to remove three screws holding the the protective cover on the connector then remove the side terminal covers. Then you make test connections through the side of the connector.

The knock sensor shielded cable goes directly to pins 12 and 12 of the ICU.
Signal wire to ICU pin 13, shield to pin 12. I don't think the KN often fails. What is your symptom?

Well, I get the 1-4-3 code each time I try it, with the old or the new Knock sensor. Done this multiply times with the same code each time. Also each time it failes, the check engine light turns on, i get very, very crapy performance, and my gas miliage el stinks-o. The classic bad knock sensor case.

Thanks again,
Blake

Not sure if those are the symptoms of a bad Knock sensor, seems that knocking would be a symptom.

Seem to remember that it is possible to mix up the knock sensor cable and its connector with another cable possibly temp sensor or the idle air motor. Reversing them does no permamnent harm but of course they gotta be plugged in correctly. Your planned tests of the wiring back to the ICU will would reveal this.

That does make a good point, but ever thing else is working fine, and it was a random day that the check engine light came on, i did touch anything in it. But then again, it just might be my luck....

Thanks,
Blake

Switched Connectors Can Happen 200

David, I recalled the same thing and found the thread at —

However, this was a 740, which may mean a different harness
