vacuam check valve? can't find it 200

I looked all over the intake manifold for the vacuam check valve...because on acceleration my car makes a wooshing sound like air pressuriziing or something.

my car is a 1982 244 kjetronic. I looked for a vacuam leak in the a/c...as i was told..but i...didn't find anything... i was wondering if the a/c is even connected to the intake vacuam pressure?

Is this sound even an issue? and if it is does my car have a vacuam check valve that's gone bad? I woudl appreciate any help in this matter

alright i found it. the vacuam check valve on my 82 244 kjet is on the actual manifold. It screws into the intake manifold via a rubber hose. It was all gunked up inside, so i sprayed some valvoline syntec carb cleaner inside...and cleaned it up. no more whoosh sounds on acceleration. My guess is that the gunk was not allowing a tight seal, which under high pressure (acceleration) it was causing a vacuam leak.....and thus the whooshing sound

thanks for the help

When you turn off the engine, can you hear the air vents moving when you operate the controls?

The only vacuum check valves on kjet are right where the vacuum hose connects to the brake booster, and one in the line that goes to the air resevoir under the dash. They look like quarter size plastic disks spliced into the vacuum line. They are usually black and white color. Where is the whoosh coming from around the intake or under the dash? If you had a large vacuum leak with kjet it would stall a lot and run terrible.
