Sunroof question 900

Today I cleaned and lubed my sunroof. As I was running the sunroof back and forth to spread the lube, a small donut shaped piece of foam rubber dropped out of the sunroof. It is flat, black, with a hole in the center, a little smaller than a quarter, and has adhesive on one side. It must have been stuck to some part of the sunroof.

Does anyone know where this piece goes?

Sunroof question 900

Sounds like a petrifed Dunkin Donuts chocolate glazed...

From the motor, perhaps?

Sunroof question 900

No, I tried tasting it and it was a little more tender and more tasty than a Dunkin. (I prefer Winchell's)

This foam rubber "donut" could not have fallen out of the motor as the motor cover was still in place.

EUREKA!! - I just went out to the car thinking that, in the dark, I could use a flashlight to look around in the sunroof to see where the rubber donut could have dropped from. As it turned out, there were two of these parts which fit around two machine screw heads under where the wind deflector moves to when the sunroof closes. (please don't try to parse that sentence!) It appears that the rubber donuts are cushions to protect the wind deflector when it retract or maybe an anti rattle cushion.

This is my first sunroof and I am a little nervous about it. So far all I've had to do is replace the switch. Thanks for the reply.
