Update on FCP Groton Delivery Time 200

I received my parts from FCP Groton exactly one week after ordering. I talked with Scott and should have received them in three days. The problem was as several of you mentioned; Nick was gone last week and left Scott by himself and Scott couldn't keep up. He apologized and promised to give me free shipping on my next order. This was my first order with them but after all the positive feedback from the Brickboard and the free shipping offer, I will try them again. By the way, I'd ordered valve shimming washers and everyone mic'd right on the money. jp

Me too. 200

My brakes for the 740 arrived exactly one week after the order too. They screwed up one thing (well, two), I got two tubes of brake silicone and only one intake manifold gasket. My intake gasket was folded over inside the box and ripped at #4 cyl so I called Nick today and he's shipping me out a new one. As usual, customer service was great and I'll spend more money there. With 16 Volvos, they know I'll be back.

Update on FCP Groton Delivery Time 200

I believe I spoke with cott when I placed an order for front suspension bushings. He seemed to be on the verge of calling me a dumb **** and telling to shove the order. You know what seemed to really push him to the edge? I kept asking about a bout the brand, trying to make sure the parts were not ScanTech. He asked me why I didn't want ScanTech, and before I could answer, he said, "Brickboard." I replied, "Yeah, ScanTech doesn't have a very good reputation on the 'board, and I don't want to be bothered with quality concerns just to save a few bucks." Having calmed down a bit my now, he said, "Fair enough," and proceeded to take my order.

I placed the order on Monday and I want to do the front end on Saturday, so maybe I'd better call back just to make sure my parts shipped. JP, I'll mentioned to Scott that you suggested I check on my order and pass along your regards. ;-)

Update on FCP Groton Delivery Time 200

Now, least I leave the wrong impression, I have alway received great service/value from FCPG. Heck, I'm still a regular customer, and that speakes volumes. I guess everybody has bad days at work. Taking phone orders from shadetree mechanics from all around the world can't be the easiest way to make a living!

Update on FCP Groton Delivery Time 200

I understand where Scott is coming from... afterall I pester Nick about brands and such endlessly whenever I'm about to place an order. I do it to nearly everyone I order car parts from... and I've certainly been on the receiving end of tedious customers. I have respect for someone who is able to put up with customers like this on a regular basis.

One of the reasons I'd happily recommend FCP Groton (or RPR for that matter) is because of the kind response I get. Nick has always answered my questions promptly and politely. This includes the time when he sent some stuff off to my previous address (and my frustration was starting to show through). I sure wouldn't be in any hurry to recommend doing business with a company whose customer service was lacking.

Having to take orders and questions from self-proclaimed know-it-alls (I don't mean you, I mean all of Brickboard including myself) ;-) is difficult.

Scott and Nick are both great guys. I've dealt with both of them before and service has been nothing short of exceptional. Glad things worked out okay.

Well...that explains why I'm still waiting for a small order of a week ago. I've had good past experience with FCP's service. Of course you have to bear in mind that many items they sell that have lower cost than IPD are Scan-Tech stuff, which has meant variable quality in the past. But Nick and crew are very candid in discussing this and recommending alternative (higher priced) OE grade stuff in certain applications - like trailing arm bushings.
