Tires sizes 200

This expands a little on a recent thread...

I need to replace my front tires. A few years ago I purchased 4 new tires for my 240 wagon. The place put smaller tires on than should be (I can't remember the size off the top of my head). Now, the back tires are fine (they were replaced when each took nails to the sidewall), but still the same small size. I want to put the larger diameter tires on the front (I'm tired of my speedometer being 7% fast). Is it okay to have different size tires on the front than the rear? And, what size would you suggest for fairly normal driving habbits?

Thanks for any help,

Put the bigger tires on the rear, because of the speedometer, and,
more importantly, because you want the rear to be slightly grippier
to avoid a sudden transition to oversteer.

To correct your speedometer, you'll have to put the proper diameter tires on the rear. The speedometer gets it's signal from the rear end.
