REAR DRIVER WINDOW NOT FUNCTIONING 700

1990 760 turbo-Rear driver window does not work. Neither the driver door master controller or the one on the rear door. What steps do i need to go through in order to diagnose and fix the problem. I tried cleaning out the switch in the back to no avail.
Any help appreciated
Thank you
Jimmi

The rear switch controls the window by going through the driver switch first. If your switch is dead, you can get one at a parts yard cheap. I tried fixing a switch once and it just broke. In my opinion, it isn't worth the effort of trying not to break the switch while opening it up, cuz you will anyway.

Did you pop open the switch and file the contacts? The silver contacts get so pitted that they simply won't conduct. A small file is a great tool for this. Also, try swapping the switches in your driver's door- swap that one for another that works, to verify if it's a switch or maybe the motor.

The window motor can get corroded internally and fail, and I've replaced one rear 740 door motor for this reason. ('88 744)

Good luck!
