Hi All,
I am still having issues finding the FPR in my 94 940 NA w/regina. I went to the dealer today and he said that the FPR I had (white one) was the right one and that it is in the relay tray behind the ashtray. What I thought was the FPR he said was a wiper relay, it is black and identical to the white one on the outside, save for a locating pin being in a different place. Without it, the wipers work, but do not automatically go to the park position. Where else can I look for my fuel pump relay? In a previous post someone suggested the right kick panel near the center of the dash, but I do not know exactly what that means. Thanks for any help. A curious thing also happened, after sitting 2 days, I turned over the engine and it ran for about 3 seconds and then died, not to start again. What is this? Fuel injectors leaking into the cylinders to supply a short burst of fuel? Any ideas?
Thanks, Palmer

You will find the relay in the second row of relays, just beyond the fuse block. Yes, it's white. If you pull it you'll find six contacts. The older style has copper contacts, the newer 'improved' version has white metal. See the FAQ for a diagram of the relay locations. I just checked mine, and the RSR along the inside fender well just underneath the cluster of cables. I just finished changing out the in-tank fuel pump. Now that I've done it I could do it again if I had to, but this first time it took me three hours.

You get to the FPR (and everything else on the same panel per the last post) By removing the ash tray like getting to the fuses. The said panel is further behind the fuses.

I have already removed the ashtray, the lighter, etc and can see the relays and the relay tray has a hole (2nd row far left) where the relay would be if it was ever there. The tray doesn't have any plugs for the relay prongs to engage. In fact there is not enough space for a relay that is the same height as the white one when installed.
Thanks for the input,
Palmer

The 1992 wiring diagram book for B230F with Regina shows the FI relay as in the far left position, middle relay row, in the relay tray under the radio. The Radio suppression relay is below the coolant reservoir in the engine compartment.

Nope. Not on this one. I have pulled every stinking relay in the cluster behind the fuse block, and the pump still works and the car starts. I was able to locate every other relay ( trans OD, wiper etc), but there is just an empty hole where the FPR should be! I looked again last night on mine, and could not find one anywhere. The RSR is clipped to the fender well behind the ABS block. I am just wondering if Volvo, in their infinite wisdom, decided to use the RSR as the only relay in this circuit since there is just one pump in the tank???

Hello Palmer; I too have a 94 940 with the Regina fi system. When I recently replaced the fuel filter, and went to bleed fuel line pressure by pulling the FPR, the little scutter was MIA. Nowhere to be found. Not with the other relays, not behind the right kick panel with the ECU, not in the engine compartment. What gives ????? I still have not gotten back to finding it. I DID find the radio suppresion relay in the engine compartment, where it is supposed to be, and it had the same effect by disabling the circuit. You could try replacing that ( radio supp relay) to see if it helps, since it will also shut off the pump . I will be watching this thread for the location of this mythical beast, the regina fuel pump relay.

Sumerduckman,
Thanks for your reply. I was bginning to think I was just mentally defective somehow. I will try the radio supp relay ASAP. If I can find it, that is.
