How can I tell if i have ABS on my 91 Volvo 740 Wagon

...or you could look at a front caliper. Two hoses and dual piston Girling caliper for standard brakes, ABS has only one hose and single piston.

Look under the hood. The ABS is in a box, nearly half the size of your battery, with several metal tubes coming out of it.

One easy way to test ABS is to drive slowly with one wheel in the sand on the shoulder of the road, then hit the brakes hard. You should hear and feel it work.

I believe when you first turn on the car an ABS light should light on the dash along with all the other lights.

Get in an empty parking lot. get up to around 30. slam on brakes. if you slide, you don't have them. if the brake pedal pulses and you don't slide too much, you do.

The brakes pluse, but i don't know if it's screwed up or if it's abs.. i've driven newer cars with it but it just don't feel the same.... When i'm in the snow the volvo petal always pluses when u try to brake...
