An interesting listing came up on eBay this morning - an 84 244 Turbo described only as a "VOVLO 2409 Sedan, last of the true Volvos". No where in the listing does it say its a turbo, but a look at the engine confirms it. Also, there is no intercooler, which makes me wonder if it isn't in fact an 83, but even with 250K, it looks to be in good shape. Hate to see one of these slip away unnoticed. Its in Springfield, Mass, which, if memory is correct, is in the western part of the state. Item number 2473772793, ends 4/20 9:09am PDT.

By the way, thanks for the input I received about selling/keeping my 245T a while ago. I decided to keep it and do battle with my wife over an expanded garden or car-port.

Despite the fact that some '83s came with factory intercoolers, none of the early 84's did. Not simple, but true.

That's right. I know my 84 didn't have an intercooler, although it would have been nice if it would have had one.

It has the "Turbo" Emblem on the trunk lid. Glad your wife let you keep your brick. do you have pictures?

Whether or not I kept it wasn't/isn't the problem, building a carport over the garden is. The 245 is always garaged, but I'd like to protect the others, too.

OK, emblem on lid. Not sure what that refers to. All turbo 240s have that emblem but the "intercooler" emblem is a sure sign of a dealer added, after-factory intercooler, when it is on a 240. A factory intercooled 240 should not have the "intercooler" emblwm. Which brick, that my wife let me keep, are you curious about, the 242Ti?

Indeed. My 1984 was intercooled, possibly at the factory (as it was special ordered)... but whoever installed the intercooler used the IC kit. The 84 had the lighter flywheel, the intercooler emblem, and the IC kit manuals with it. In comparison my 85 had the beefier flywheel, no emblem, and no IC manuals.
