Time for a paint job 444-544

My 1963 Volvo PV544 is a blue gray colour and the paint code on the firewall says 67-1. Dupont says it is beige.
Anyone know what the paint code would be. Thanks

e-mail bob at melvilla@nbnet.nb.ca

Thanks

I think that is what Volvo called "midnight blue". Half the people call it gray, the other half baby blue.
It's the color we painted mine a couple years ago. I think I still have the paint numbers/brand that we had made for it if you want.
Let me know.

I posted this on the 122 forum, but it might be handy for others here.

You can find most Volvo colors, even the older ones, at the following site:
http://www.sikkenscr.com In the left column menu, select Color / Mixit Online, then enter the Sikkens paint code, usually VOL followed by the Volvo paint code; ie VOL19 VOL99 VOL46. If you do not find the paint code, then select Volvo on the Make pull down menu. You will get a list of all colors, but specify a Color Group to narrow the search.

I entered your paint code and came up with:

Volvo VOL67 Schieferblau 1964 1965 Blue

ColorMap 473D4

This is the paint code (ColorMap) for Sikkens automotive paint. I'm sure this can be cross referenced to Dupont or other makers of paint. I was very pleased with the Sikkens paint (46 & 65) that was used on my Amazon

Hope this helps.

If all else fails, find an un-faded place on your car (maybe inside the trunk?) and take your car to a good body shop. They have the tools to give you a very close formula to get that color. Kinda like having paint mixed at the hardware store.

I have a PV544 that was originally 'Battleship Gray' and has been repainted a knockout Dark Toreador Red Metallic.
