Trailing arm and torque rod bushings for over 200 bucks? 200 1989

I just need someone to tell me to 'suck it up' and shut up. I just paid to have some rear bushings replaced and got charged a total of 230 dollars for four torque rod and two trailing arm bushings. Found them on Trollhattan for a total of like 45 bucks -- I know they sell for cheap, but did I get ripped off? What do you think?

I did it myself and my cost breakdown was:
$100 for a jack, jackstands and misc. tools
$165 for the bushings (because I had to return two that I bought
at FCP and buy the dealer items - the Scan Tech parts fit poorly)
$ 50 at a mechanic's shop to press in the bushings
----
$315 = total, and I did all the labor. Sounds like you got yourself
a good deal. Then again, my car now has poly. bushings. Nyah, nyah.

Yeah, Shut Up! 200 1989

It took me a 5 hours and about 5 more hours of planning to get mine done, cost me about $40 to do it myself so I saved a bunch. My quote was $450 to do them, I opted to get it done myself.

You got a good deal, it sounds.

I had a quote for nearly $300 for just the trailing arm bushings. Your deal sounds good to me.

The labor adds up, as it's not an easy job. Around here, it'd run me $250 to just the trailing arm bushings replaced.

You got a good deal.

You saved yourself a long frustrating weekend of work, so suck it up and shut up! ;-)

Actually, that's a pretty good price for that particular piece of work. Expect a similar bill (or worse) if your blower motor ever goes out!

I was quoted 4 or so hours of labor for all rear bushing (torque, panhard, trailing arm). My mechanic charges 50/hr...so, it come out to $200 + parts + tax. I dont think you got a bad deal.

Cheers,
Raj
