ROTOR (recommendations) for 86 Volvo turbowagon 700

Have a 86 Volvo turbowagon. While having various maintenance performed had new brake pads put on the front and rear. Mechanic told me that the FRONT rotors needed turning/resurfacing, so I was going to take them to a machine shop this weekend but yesterday saw on the internet advertised "NEW 2 Brake Rotors (Front) for Volvo 740 & 760's 85-87". I say: "Hey, that includes me and I probably need new rotors just so that I'll know when the last time I had new rotors." I read further and the rotors are manufactured by "Beck Arnley, Part #083-2587 (2 Brake Rotors (Front) Volvo 740))." Still sounds like me, but I know nothing at all about the quality of Beck Arnley rotors. Anybody had any experience with them? Are they worth the buy ($35.00 plus shipping $24.95) Better than the Zimmerman manufactured ones (I'm reading about them now)? Also, how do I find out if I have ABS or not on this model year? No owner's manual or original invoice.

I use parts from this company for years but it was clutch disc and pressure plates. Zimmermann and Brembo both make execellent rotors, but I perfer Brembos.

There were several versions of brakes on the 7-series. Best bet instead of guessing - pull off the wheels and check for style (one-piece with integrated hub or separate) and diameter (10-1/2", 11, or 11-1/4").

No 700 series had 11" rotors; 900 only.

My '91 does, as did a '90 I've checked out before.

We're not ruling out that parts got swapped in before, since it's so common for those with the 1-piece hubs to replace with whatever is convenient.

if you replace your rotors, you should most definitely replace your brake pads along with it again. otherwise, your old brake pads may score the new rotors.

i've never heard of beck arnley, but that shipping is a ripoff.

i recommend ate powerdiscs from FCP Groton.

No idea about what Beck-Arnley sells, but Brembo(known good brand) rotors(w/ABS) are 42 bucks with free shipping from
http://www.europeanautomotive.com/, so it's not a good deal.
The ABS unit is a black box(really!), ~4"x8"x8", above and behind the battery. ABS rotors are 11.25" dia., non-ABS are 10.5".
