Small Request, I'll Pay for a Nut 200

Hello Bricksters:

Would anyone have the correct sized thin nut used to secure the rotating A/C switch to the center console? When I was repairing it the other night (trying to get the microswitch to engage, and shut off the fan) I lost it. I cannot find it anywhere. I have looked and looked. I went to Radio Shack & my hardware store, and nothing will fit. I don't want to buy another new switch, just for this piece. If anyone has one to spare, I will pay a few dollars for it, plus postage.

Thanks,

Andrew in NC

I will look when I get home to see if I happen to have one in my box of little spares. If I do it's yours.

But no matter how you get another, the original one is going to appear the moment it arrives.

Yeah - most switches use machine threads. Specialty nut/bolt stores may carry one, though.

Otherwise go back to the hardware store and look for external metal circlips. Barring that, a star washer shoved over the threads can be used to hold it back in place too.
