Dumb Question on oil 200

Detergent or non-detergent oil in my 85 240?

You can put your answer in the headline because although I'm not too lazy to change my own oil, I am too lazy to click on the link to your post. :-)

Don't worry, I have a mann filter.

Cheers & thanks in advance

If the car has been using non-detergent oil for an extended period stick with it. Otherwise keep using detergent. NMI 200

not really ... 200

I've seen some straight-weight (SAE 20, SAE 30, SAE 40) oils that are specifically non-detergent. They're used to break in engines.

To the original post ... stick with detergent. Go with API grade SL and you'll be fine.
