locating the radio amplifier on a 1991 940 900

i need to re-wire the main door speakers (front and rear)to a new radio - does anyone know where the amplifier is physically located, so that i can pick up the speaker wires from here?

If you don't find it where Lance suggested, slide your radio out and feel around the back of the cubbyhole below the radio. If you have a short-depth cubbyhole, the amp could be clipped to the back of it.

remove the driver's side kick panel and then look straight up into the dash. It's located just above and to the side of the steering column.

You don't need to remove the kick panel to get to it, though it would help (assuming it's like my '93 945T's amp was).

Pysically, it's the silver box with vents all around, with two plugs going into it. One plug being the same as the amp plug in the back of the radio, the other being a long, narrow plug (maybe 8 wires across, two deep).
