Hey, transmission--what's the deal?! 200

Dear Brickmeisters:

Soon after I got my 1992 wagon three years ago (at 163k) twice the AW-70 jumped/slipped in reverse when I was backing uphill. Never did it again, until this week.

Now it's done it again.

What's happening here? Is the reverse clutch about to fail? Would a flush solve it? Otherwise, everything seems to work by the book.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Doug Harvey

My philosophy for that is..... 200

do the cheapest thing first - check and top up the tranny fluid.

Next cheapest thing - do a good tranny flush.

Next - call in a pro. That is, of course, if the problem continues.

Good Luck,

Bob

How many miles has it been since the tranny fluid was completly flushed?
