Missing grill... 200

My 90' 240 Wagon turned 200,000miles yesterday. Then I noticed that the grill is missing. This doesn't bother me a whole lot, but, I was wonderring if having the radiator exposed like that could damage it at all.

BTW, if you are driving around central Jersey and spot a 240 grill by the side of the road let me know...

Agreed. Leaves and other lightweight debriis are likely to clog the face of the radiator and inhibit the cooling fins from doing their job. Also, your horn(s) may be exposed. Third issue may be security; it's very easy to get the hood open with the grille out of the way. Your grill is a fairly common used part for sale on Ebay, so you may wish to start there. Just make sure the replacement has all the mounting tabs intact.

GI Auto Salvage has a lot of older Volvos if you're interested.
They're off Rt. 46 near Parsippany and their tel. is 973-227-1100.
No affiliation, of course.

I'd not recommend driving without the grille, because road debris
would be more likely to puncture the radiator or damage the fins,
reducing cooling efficiency.

If you're changing the grille anyway, you could replace it with a
grille where the fins are removed and replaced with coarse wire
mesh. This would allow you to mount driving lights behind the
grille if you want better lighting.
