Blown left rear speaker--OEM cassette unit 200 1991

Just bought a '91 240 with only 70k miles and it's great. A couple of little annoying problems, such as the left rear speaker is blown (it has the factory AM/FM/cassette until that uses speakers with tweeter cones.) It looks like the speaker is riveted in somehow and can't just be unscrewed and replaced. Haynes manual says nothing. Any way to replace the speaker without taking the door panel out? Or if I do take the panel out, how to remove the speaker?

Use a dremel-type cutting tool (or a pair of sharp, small, strong wire-cutters) to remove those rivets. No need to remove the entire door. Repost this message in the "Aftermarket" section for lots of more help on radio selection, spearks and wiring.

Also, get the catalog from www.crutchfield.com. They have great info, and sell custom wiring harnesses for the 240 if you want to replace the radio without rewiring the entire car.
