Webers in Canada 140-160 1973

Hi,

I'm looking to put new 45DCOEs on my 142 here in Australia, and they are fairly horrendously expensive. I will be in Canada (Montreal side) next week and wondered if anyone knew of a cheap supplier over there? I've had a browse on the net and can't find anything cheaper than I can get them for in Sydney, but if anybody knows some good dealer, I'd love to know. I think the price needs to be south of CDN800 for a pair to make it worth the trouble.

Regards

John

You're right - you can never have too many!

I had looked on eBay, but there weren't any pairs of new 45DCOEs. My recent experience with buying second hand ones has convinced me that the premium you pay for new Webers over crap second hand units, plus the cost of rebuild kits, is well worth paying.
Regards
John

The problem is that new they now list at approx. $450 US each.

Its all in how you look! I search under odd-ball mis-spellings and find some great deals. Also try other car types like "Truimph carbs" and see what pops up.

I am absolutely not intimidated by carbs so dis-assembly and rebuilding is cake for me. When I can have a $800-$1200 set of carbs for 1/3 price and a little effort, I will do it every time!

The hardest part for me is finding the manifolds for a decent price as I can't make those ;)

Mike!
