Remote Keyless Entry or Remote Starter for 1988 240? 200

I have been toying with the idea of adding a remote keyless entry kit to my 1988 240DL. I see a number of the kits on ebay for not a lot of money.

For just a little bit more I can get the full a remote starter kit.

Has anyone else tried this? How difficult is the installation? Any recommendations for which kit to buy?

I like the keyless entry idea, something I have been thinking about for some time on my car. The remote starter idea is a bad one. Coming from experience and from the experience of a general manager from 2 dealerships, remote starters are asking for trouble. They have been known to continue cranking after the engine starts... dead batteries... forgetting the car is running... and then if you misplace the keys, a locked running car w/o the key.
