Hi

My dome light been dangling since I got the car and I intend to repair it. It seems there are 2 plastic bracket upon which the dome light clicks into. The rear bracket is Ok but the front one has detached from the roof. I was told by that the dome light is actually supported by the headliner and told that a new headliner was needed. The headliner is sagging around the dome light but otherwise in OK conditon and changing to a new headliner seems a drastic solution.

I was thinking of glueing it back on the roof but not sure what to use and whether it'll work? Anyone else has had this problem before? Thanks

the metal brackets are a good idea,but i would wrap an electrical tape as an insulation around them,because when you install the dome light back you dont want the wires to get intact with the metals incase these touched the roof.good luck.charles.

I had this problem with a NEW headliner, my fix was to take some small pieces of metal bend the correctly to where it was up above the cardboard position of the headliner and also comming out to hold the light up, not the most pretty fix but it doesnt move and hasnt fell down in 2 years.

Thanks. Will give your method a try. Had a suspicion the guy was trying to sell me a new headliner. Anyway what did you use to attach the metal to the roof - superglue or one of those expoxy stuff would be better?

I didnt use any kinda glue or epoxy just the metal hangers.
