In an earlier post I was told that the Bendix computers on the Regina 7 and 9 series cars could be upgraded at the dealer or with a special tool.

Does anyone have any details about this...ie, what is the expected outcome, what TSB was it, is it worth getting done, etc...

Check Alldata. They've got the titles and numbers of all the Volvo TSBs.

I had that information on a repair CD which, unfortunately, I don't have running now. As I recall, there was a ROM replacement which was to improve starting. I don't recall the details but others may add on here. However, it wasn't a "performance improvement" chip in the sense you would get more power.

Guys, Gals, whoever else, Can someone please help me get info on this issue.

If the dealer has an upgrade they can do (which they can't seem to recall) then I'd like to get it done.

There are a couple TSBs regarding the ECM, but I have never liked alldata and don't know another way to find them out.

Does anyone have any information on this ECM upgrade?

I've been too slammed at work to sift through the myriad of service bulletins I have...I'm bad, I didn't place and them in the notebook as they came in. I have the computer for the upgrade. All the upgrade was for was to bring any pre-94 Regina cars up to 94 specs in regard to idling speed, and AC idle compensation. The cars seem to idle not only a smidge higher, but also smoother.
