240 lower ball joints? 200

Hello .... I'm rebuilding the suspension on my 1982 Turbo and ran into alittle confusion. The lower ball joints that were original were both the same! I'm wondering what orientation they are supposed to be? Should the ball joint be forward of the center line or behind it? My new replacement joints are both different and look more correct than the two similar models I removed. Anyway help replacing them correctly would be helpful. All 4 manuals don't show anything other than "remenber how they come out and replacde them likewise".
Thanks for the help .... I installed them forward, so did I do them correctly?
Thanks again Gary

The old BJ's were the same on both sides. The newer ones put the ball joint slightly forward of the centerline of the A-arm, to increase the caster angle which improves self-centering. Sounds like you did it right.

Yes, you did them correctly; early 240s and manual steering L&R were the same.
