The power window switches are easy to clean. One of mine failed this weekend (drivers side front). Use a thin, flat tip screw driver to pry out the switch console - it comes out whole with switches intact. Use a very small flat tip screw driver to remove the bad switch (also unplug from power assembly) - they are held in place by knotched cutouts, pressed into the console. Just pry gently, so as not to break the plastic. With switch in hand, the pushbutton lifts off by lifting either side - you will see the small indentation/hole that keeps pushbutton on. Once the button is off, there are two small contact levers and two small bearings (look like BB's). Clean the contacts with emery board or sandpaper. I reversed the contact levers, so that the clean, unused lever makes contact with points. Reassemble and install - mine works great now. Careful not to lose the bearings, they allow the switch to swivel over the contacts. Interestingly, the window switches I got recently as extras for my 740 from the salvage yard ($5.00) do not fit the 240.....
