Here's a shot of what those of us who are facing a $500 bumper replacement. Spook has given us a clever suggestion, but I'm uncertain that his 940 bumper is attached using the same slot/flange arrangement. In the picture of the broken flange, it piece should take a right angle downward at the end of the flat post that then slides into the slot. As I recall it may be enlarged at the end to keep it secure. If I could figure out how to load TWO pics, the receiver slot, barely visible in the left part of the photo could be seen.

Thanks for the pics, Warren. It would seem as though your post (flange) is completely missing. I think can fashion an 'L' on what remains of mine and get it to work, after Brandon's method. What did you say the metal piece was...looks like a pipe hanger.

It's just generic metal with lots of holes. It may be pipe hanger. I can measure it for you. I got it at Home Depot.

I gerryrigged something, but can't get it returned to the slot without taking off the bumper, at least partially. Not enought time, but may do it later this month.

You can buy that bumper for 200 at a body shop. If your car is black then your in luck because you can buy an already painted one for that price. If not then you have to have it painted but that will cost 100 at a good body shop.

I wondered about that.... I can likely get one at a good price from the parts manager I know at a dealer in IL. where I get all my parts. M-m-m-m, I could also have it painted there and the install it myself. Thanks for reminding me of the option.

If you dont have headlight wipers or foglights it takes 2 minutes to install. If you do have both just at 20 minutes to the job. Its so easy.
