Car stalls when cold on startup/ idles afterwards 700 1989

I have a 760t. Not too long ago it got the wise idea that it was going to turn right back off after I started it when it is cold.It is no different than turning off the key(im not loosing electric.) I can prevent this by holding the engine at about 1500 rpm for a minute or so. Also more noticeably when the car is warm, it will stall if I abruptly let go of the gas. Sometimes it will recover and sometimes it wont. These problems occured at different times. The stalling warm has happened since I have had the car and the cold start problem has been for 6 months or so. You all are my last hope before I stick a shotgun to the car. BOTH of the fuel pumps are new and working properly. The mass air meter is new and i also cleaned the air control valve. The hose leading from the air box to the turbo is new also. Car is costing to much $$$. Thanks for imput.

P.S. One more thing I forgot to add, the higher the rpm when you turn loose of the gas, the more of a guarentee that it will not recover and stall.

Have you checked the Fuel pressure regulator and fuel pump regulator? Also, might be a good time to check cold-start injector (look for leaks around o-rings and compression fitting going to fuel rail, and check the resistance/voltage values in the Bentley manual). Also might want to check coolant temp sensor-not the sending unit at the front, but the one towards the rear of the block. Another thing would be to check the condition of the fuse panel from behind by removing it and looking at all the points. While you're at it, clean the fuse mounts.Check all ECU points for signal, ground, and continuity-All of these tests are detailed in the Bentley manual. If you don't have a good digital multi-meter-GO GET ONE! It will help. Also check the condition of the plugs for deposits-white=lean,Excessive Black=Rich, Grey=normal. Might be a good time to check plug wires and crank position sensor. Also don't forget to check all vacuum lines and check for split ends, disconnected lines etc. Lastly, do you have any check engine lights or fault codes,or smell gas strongly in the engine bay when this happens? These are valuable and can help to track down an irritating problem. Hope this helps...

started having a similar problem with my 740. It was fine after a tune-up that included the replacing the very clogged flametrap and associated tee. I figured the cold sticky oil of winter clogged the already partially clogged part.
