Headlight swap - now that I'm satisfied ... 200 1986

Pic is kinda blurry, but I'm finally satisfied by the looks of my 7" round headlight swap, what with the trim strip issue finally out of the way ...

... and done without fabricating anything special, seeing how it's an existing part.

-- Kane ... now it's just a matter of buying shorter lag screws/bolts, and reinstalling the driving lights.

Grille? 200 1986

What kind of grille is that? I noticed you've changed it several times from whatever was on there originally, and I think that the latest one looks pretty cool (from what I can see of it).

Looks like the standard grill covered with metal mesh stuff that you can get at a hardware store (I'm sure it has a name, I just don't know it).

Yep - you got it. FWIW, that's masonry lathe.

And it's concealing broken parts. :)

Headlight swap - now that I'm satisfied ... 200 1986

Nice job, and looks !! Any pics of the entire front end ?

Now that it's complete, any info to pass on ? What parts were used ?

My 89, 245, would like to have a set of 7'" rounds....then we can source up a set of Cibie "Z" beams, and see where we are going in all sorts of weather.

Thanks for the pics.

Did ya read through my writeup? I don't have the individual pics of how I mounted up the trim strips, but the basic mounting is all there.

Cibie "Z" beams??? Do they fit on the 7" round headlight setup? I just got what I need to change the four-square headlight setup on my 79 264GL to the 7" round headlight + flathood and would like to use the best headlights possible so I can see where I'm going. I must admit that the four-light setup worked fairly well and I'm kind of wondering if this 7" setup will be able to work as well or better than the 4-light one. Thanks for your time!

Sincerely,
