240 in the comics 200

Real Life Online Comic, 6/6/04

I thought I'd pass along that link that was sent to me by another Volvo-driving friend. Real Life has had a few strips that feature Volvos, as has Diesel Sweeties.

Been there. 200

With a roadworthy inspection coming up, and bare putty showing on my bonnet, I was forced to respray the hood on a day when it really was that hot (middle of summer in Australia). There was enough glare off the white bonnet that I needed sunglasses and the paint was drying before it hit the car, even though I was spraying about 2" away with mostly thinners. It was actually hurting my hands to feel the paintwork.

Anyway here's the shine you get when you spray laquer on metal that's hot enough to grill. The paint looks original, and not in a good way.

It looks like my hood that i painted two weeks ago, although i was painting when it was too cold... I don't know what i'm going to do to fix it either... We'll see, maybe i'll get to it this summer. At least it isn't multicolored... =D

Wait for better weather, then sand it back and do it again, there's not much else to do.

If it's not too bad you could wet sand it back then use a cutting compound, but if you plan to respray it properly at a later date, it's probably best not to use polish on it.
