annoying brake related noise 200 1991

I'm getting a loud drone/tone when I brake (91 240 sedan).

Just had the front brakes done, and there is no pedal squish or chatter. The sound seems to come right as I begin to stop and crescendos to a loud level just at the point of complete stop.

Any ideas ?? Thanks

IMHO high temp copper based anti-seize grease on the shims will cure the "screeching" brake noise.
