I have a 89' 740GL B230F. And it needs a Alternator, am trying to get a 240 parts car that has a nice set of Volvo alum rims, would the Alternator also work for me ? THANKS

It'll work, but the tensioner boss is different.

As far as I'm aware, it should work just fine. Check to make sure the voltage regulator is happy. If you're not sure, I'd suggest replacing it as mine left me stranded one day when it failed (I knew it was bad too. Agh!) and they're pretty easy to replace especially when the alt is removed.

I failed to mention that i do not know the year of 240, but the ALT is on pass side low, driver,s side high on 740.
Is the Volt Reg a little thing that is attached to back of ALT ? I can get the Alt rebuilt for $ 60.00, does that seem fare ?
Any thoughts on Volvo 15" alum wheels with 5 spokes, i don,t believe i have ever seen another set ? THANKS
