Check the intake hose from the air filter( mass airflow sensor) to the turbo. I would think it may have a hole in it that opens up upon full throttle.

    Third vote for a hose ... 900

A small hole or slit ... holds fine under vacuum or low boost, but opens up when pressure is applied.

I second the Turbo hose idea. It may not have a holes but just be old and weak, they tend to get oil in the bottom of them and weaken and collapse when full pressure is aked for. Same happend to my 92 740 and when I replace the hose it was fine.

Sometimes a blown turbo hose will exhibit the symptoms you have. They are not always easy to find. I would remove and inspect closely all of the hoses from the turbo to the intake very carefully looking for tears or splits.

Start out by dumping the OBD codes and see if anything shows up (see the FAQ on how to read the codes)

then get back to us with the results.
