Lots of folklore says the K is unsuitable but Dave S. and I know a guy who loves the K in his flathood, don't we D?

I mean the K in a B21FT 1983 242Ti Special addition, not as in average old 240 that I put an older hood on.

Bob, Proper name = capital F i.e. Flathood, as opposed to the more generic flathood ;-)

All kidding aside Clay's run so many cams through those cars of his I'm not sure what he is running in them nowdays. (quick cell call) I just talked to him, he has MVP turbo cam in one, stock T in one, and a K in one with the higher stall speed MVP torque converter. He likes it, more lag but good strong pull at higher rpm.

He has another MVP cam which he will be changing the K out in favor of.

So they do work, don't know if he passed smog with it in the turbo car, I do know it passed with the LH-2.0 in the NA '84

Oh jeez, my goof. Well, it beats "It's June, my AC is broke" that we get in spades, seasonally.

hi there what do you mean by 242ti special addition? you like the K cam in the 242 turbo w/int? can you elaborate on the performance with the K cam. i have a 85 244ti and on my shelf i have the B cam, A cam, and K cam, and a redrilled cam gear. i will put one in soon. but not sure which one to install. i have read the K cam is good from 4K to 7K rpms. but i dont really spent alot of time in that range. although i like to go there very much. i have the A cam set at four degrees advanced in the 87 245 and that seems to be good after 3,000rpms. thanks

hi there what do you mean by 242ti special addition?..... homologation flathood turbo 242

I do not have the cam in a turbo car but out friend does and contrary to what is repeated a lot, he likes it very much. The K in a NA 240 makes it a great highway cruiser with better passing power, so I agree with you. For specifics, I can refer you to the guy mentioned above if you write.
