Calling Per- Alignment specs 140-160

What alignment specs did you use on the 142? Specifically, how much caster did you dial in & why did you do it by adding washers to the front cradle instead of just adding shims? I'm going to set mine up similiarly for autocrossing & hope to duplicate your setup. Thanks.

Mike M.

You must have arms like popeye to have 7 degrees positive caster. Power steering has three and we know how hard it becomes when the engine stalls. I have set drag cars with 5d and they track like arrows but steer like dogs. Positive camber loads the larger inner bearing and carries weight on inner end of spindle, while negative camber enhances turn in it changes load to outer brg and end of spindle and makes steering effort harder again. positive camber is designed to go o under load, if you set much negative in it becomes a tyre wearing issue by increasing neg camber under loads. Pure race cars have totally different suspension and bearings than road cars.

    I'm not Per but... 140-160

I have one degree negative camber (top of tire tiping inward) and seven degrees of caster. My 145 with IPD bars and V performance springs turns in well and tracks down the road straight as an arow. I did not need to shim my front crossmember.

      multiple picture info 140-160

Yeah the IMG tags are for like car domain and other boards with that built in. I think you have to go with pure html on this page still. you neeed to use img src='(imageaddresshere)' and put that whole thing inbetween < > It's the same thing I use for my signature only I also have the link information in there as well.

ME too! I wanna know! I had an alignment done when i first got the car and there was some site that i followed instructions from. I can't remember how much caster they dialed in, but i definitely want to know how much i can dial in and i want more than i currently have. My camber is set to -1* right now, but i might want more. What's your setup? Have you played with it at all?
